The Entertainment Software Association of Canada (ESAC) welcomes Vancouver-based games company Roadhouse to its ranks. The 140+ Roadhouse team has developed, published and operated free-to-play iOS and Android games exclusively since 2013.
“Roadhouse was founded in 2009 by long-time industry veterans James Hursthouse, Ian Verchere, and Tarrnie Williams” said Jayson Hilchie, President & CEO of ESAC. “Their experienced team has been at the helm of some of the biggest games in the past 25 years, such as FIFA, SSX Tricky, NBA Live, Company of Heroes, Medal of Honor, and Need For Speed. Roadhouse continues to entertain and impress gamers with each generation of hardware,” he added.
The past year has seen Roadhouse pass 10 million downloads on mobile, with Red Bull Air Race: The Game, Google Play Editor’s Choice for 2014, CVGA Nominee for Game of the Year Warhammer 40,000: Carnage, and surprise RPG hit SMOSH’S Food Battle. 2015 also saw Roadhouse expand its publishing services division, running highly successful user acquisition campaigns for games including D3’s Marvel Puzzle Quest.
