Video games have reached the mainstream of consumer entertainment with multi-million dollar productions and self-published games available on an increasing number of digital platforms. Canada is leading the way in producing some of the world’s most beloved and successful games. Acting as the highly-respected voice of publishers, developers and distributors of video games in Canada, the Entertainment Software Association of Canada (ESAC) works to ensure that the policy, legal and regulatory environment is favourable for the long-term development of Canada’s dynamic and growing industry.

As President and CEO, you will lead a highly effective team in a cutting-edge industry. Reporting to an active and engaged Board of Directors, you will ensure the competent management and financial administration of the organization, as well as lead its advocacy and public relations programs. You will effectively manage complex issues and relationships with government officials, build and maintain partnerships with external organizations, and act as the national spokesperson for the Canadian video game industry.

As the ideal candidate for this role, you are a high-energy and resourceful organizational leader with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and a passion for consumer technology. Your proven ability to influence, negotiate and find common ground will be considered a strong asset. A genuine drive to get things done, coupled with a strategic approach to issues management will also be favoured. As President & CEO, you will maintain dialogue with ESAC members and others sector stakeholders to ensure that the industry has a clear and compelling voice as governments formulate policy and contemplate legislation. Candidates must have a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a government relations, public policy or public relations leadership capacity, as well as the ability to become a registered lobbyist. Proven communication skills in French and English are also a requirement.
