These codes educate players about the rules for positive online behavior (such as showing respect for other players) and about prohibitions against disruptive behavior. It is important that these guidelines are transparent, and that codes of conduct are available online for all players to review.

Although the majority of players follow these guidelines, there are exceptions and online safety can only be achieved if codes of conduct are enforced consistently. When undesirable situations arise, these rules are enforced through policies and trained teams that help determine appropriate next steps.
